Heart Beat - Free Form Dance
with Rima & Gary Yamane
Fee: $10
If you have a body you can dance. Free-form dance is an opportunity to explore and express yourself through movement free of any expectations about how your dance should look. We invite you to move in whatever way inspires you – from lying or rolling on the floor to jumping like a pogo stick and everything in between. Free-form dance supports solo movement as well as movement done in pairs or groups. It’s up to you. The only requirement is respect for self and others. With a wide range of tastefully programmed music we invite you to use this monthly event as an opportunity for engaging in dance as sacred ritual, creative expression, fun exercise, exploring personal movement, non-verbal social interaction, healing, playfulness, and more. In order to honor everyone’s varied needs we ask that participants refrain from unnecessary conversation while in the dance space. This event is free of instruction. However, there will be an opening and closing circle.
Gary Yamane is a musician, teacher, hypnotherapist and husband. As director of the music department at a charter high school in Angel Fire he is also working with educators to develop a national curriculum based on popular music.

Tibetan Chod Healing
A musical healing ceremony
$195 for this 2-day event
Including 4 healing sessions
Healing Chöd is an ancient Buddhist ritual known for its power to heal mental and physical sickness, remove karmic obstacles to spiritual growth, and address human suffering. There are no instructions to follow or techniques to learn. You simply lie down, rest, and receive healing. Chöd is suitable for everyone, including those with physical or mental distress, whether chronic or mild. Chöd consists of four musically compelling rituals led by Rinpoche and the monks and nuns of Zangdokpalri. The sacred sound and mantra initiate the favorable conditions necessary to pacify the causes of discord. With roots in the teachings of the Prajnaparamita Buddhist Sutra, Rinpoche's Chöd is identical in essence to the teachings of Machik Lapdron, an eleventh-century female Buddhist master in Tibet. With the support of the Dalai Lama, these Healing Chöd events are being offered in the West to raise money for a monastery-building project to benefit one of the poorest parts of India , Arunachal Pradesh, where no spiritual, educational, or
artistic services currently exist.
The Healing Chö is a ritual from Rinpoche's Mind Treasure, identical in essence to the teachings of Machik Lapdron, the 11th century female buddhist master. In this ritual, participants lie down on the floor while Rinpoche and the monks and nuns perform a four session ceremony with breaks in between. Kunzang Dechen Lingpa's unique Healing Chö Buddhist Dharma Treasure has benefited or healed thousands of people, from those chronically ill to those suffering simple sadness. This unique healing practice has been nurtured in Tibet for a millennium. The ceremony employs a healing song and music conducted by the Lama. The rhythm and symphonic sequences initiate the favorable conditions necessary to pacify the causes of physical, emotional and spiritual discord.

Terry Oldfield & Soraya In Concert
Music For Heart And Soul
In the Soul Room
Tickets: $15 advance, $20 same day
Profound & Inspiring Music...
Touching hearts around the world, renowned for his flute and pan pipes mastery, Terry Oldfield has a unique ability to bring the spirit of nature into his composition, from the birds of the rainforest to the whales of the ocean, which in turn enhances the soulful and meditative journeys his music explores. Terry Oldfield who was born to an Irish mother and an English Father in a Northern suburb of London called Palmers Green, is now an international musician, composer and performer. Traveling has led him to experience the great diversity of life on this planet. It was during a stay on the island of Hydra in Greece that he discovered the flute for the first time. He also traveled to Australia in his twenties and began a relationship with the land ‘downunder’ that has drawn him to live and work there. Writing and playing music brings the whole maelstrom of thinking to a halt. The creative process is so rewarding in this way - it reconnects or puts the creator in touch with himself, with that inexhaustible flow of energy and power that is always there, but only in this present moment which is eternity unfolding.
Australian born Soraya has continually explored the quest of humanity for happiness, health and mental peace. Her exploration has led her to travel and to study naturopathy, nutrition, reiki and spiritual healing and holistic living. She now puts all these skills together and offers a balanced holistic approach to health, healing and the quest to attain moksha - liberation from all that keeps us bound to pain on any level of our being. Music is the universal language of the soul that encourages others to set their inhibitions aside and sing with an open heart. It has been her great privilege to work with her husband Terry who’s musical ability is both profound and inspiring.

Trance Dance - Close Your Eyes and See
with Rima & Gary Yamane
In the Studio
Fee: $15
Using specifically designed music, breath work, visual sensory deprivation, and self-directed dance participants will be gently supported in a deep inner personal journey.
For millennia cultures throughout the world have used music and dance as vehicles that assist in healing, gaining wisdom, understanding the nature world, and communing with spirit. Being raised in these cultures enabled one to more easily access the necessary trance states induced by such rituals. In ancient and indigenous cultures music and dance guided participants into altered states with relative ease. In current times, however, with the bombardment of artificial stimuli and numerous distractions the ability to let go into beneficial trance states has become more challenging and less frequent.
The contemporary Trance Dance movement employs the use of the blindfold as a means for minimizing stimuli to the main sensory organ. With visual sensory deprivation the Trance Dancer’s ‘vision’ begins to move inward on a vast journey that has no limits or boundaries determined by external visual expectations or evaluations. The music utilized in this Trance Dance ritual has been specifically designed with the components that are optimal for inducing trance. Participation in this event does not require knowledge of any particular dance technique or form. The Yamanes will be assisted by ‘spotters’ who will help to ensure the safety of all dance participants.

UnHun - Throat Singing Concert
Nikolay Oorzhak & Vladislav Matrenitsky
Tickets are $12 in advance/ $15 same day
Nikolay Oorzhak, renowned Tyvan Shaman, Master of Khoomei Throat Singing , and his disciple Dr.Vladislav Matrenitsky present a unique heritage of South Siberian steppes and taiga – the throat (overtone) singing, in which a vocalist produces two or three notes simultaneously. This sacral voice art, used together with native instruments – tungur, igil and homus, is practiced for centuries by Tuvan shamans to restore health and to do spirit travels, in order to help the patients. This is unfamiliar yet very accessible, another-worldly but deeply spiritual music that is rooted in the sounds of nature. Both admirers of ethnic and meditative music will get the unforgettable impressions of a wide range of sounds that seem impossible for mankind to produce – from a bird’s warbles to a yak’s roar. These sounds alter the listener’s consciousness and immerse them into the healing meditative state. Mesmerizing layered overtones evoke deeply reverberant vibrations in the body and restore the unbalanced energies in diseased organs, initiating a process of recovery.
